In the beginning she gets ready for the launch and remembers why this is so important. "Beyond the wall and across the sea live children just like me, except they do not have enough food to eat." /5(30).

Rice from Heaven is a fictional story inspired by an actual event the author participated in: releasing balloons with bags of rice attached in an effort to help feed North Koreans. Teachers will find many tie-ins to curriculum: from social studies to using it /5.
